Sassy Mama Nicole @ Chips Republic

Thank you Nicole from Sassy Mama for the review!

We are more than happy to have a hot mama enjoying our food with the cute kids at Chips Republic

"Chips Republic, located on the “Dark Side” (aka as Kowloon), is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with! Mamas, you know you can’t resist any longer! It’s time to unleash that inner power and make your way across the harbour into ‘fabulous’ territory!

First stop, Elements — literally one MTR stop from Hong Kong! As one of Hong Kong’s biggest shopping centres, Elements houses more than 30 restaurants and eateries, not to mention an ice skating rink and the biggest cinema in the 852. If you fancy bringing the kids for a movie and/or a skate, I’ve got just the place to grab a bite to eat. Chips Republic is affordable, fun, cosy and most of all, tasty. Tucked away conveniently right next to the cinema and above the ice skating rink, this café is all about fast food with a difference. A step up from your McDonald’s variety, Chips Republic originates from the UK and adds a touch of chic. Their tagline is ‘Next generation of casual comfort dining‘ and everything is freshly made to order.

What can you expect on the menu? Why, chips of course! I’m not just talking your average plate of fries though. Think tasty thick-cut crunchy morsels like their signature Black Truffle Cheese chips, Republic Curry chips or Bacon J Lo Cheese chips. They are all delicious (although unfortunately, not so easy on the waistline, mamas)! A variety of gourmet burgers also top the menu, as well as tasty homemade pies with a hint of British flair and of course good old fish ‘n’ chips. The Fish Bites were the perfect size for my little one to snack on.

And these smooth and creamy milkshakes made with real ice-cream were without doubt a big winner with our girls! Just look at those smiles. The Arizona teas were also a refreshing, tasty surprise in oh-so-fancy bottles!

Thumbs Up: The sauces are made from natural ingredients with no artificial flavourings or preservatives, so you can indulge without too much guilt.

Thumbs Down: There are no highchairs here if you have tiny tots in tow. Also, a word of warning, with just a handful of comfy couches you may have to fight for your desired spot if you visit during rush hour! This little gem is quite the popular lunch spot for busy office workers.

So next time you’re in the neighbourhood (aka The Dark Side) and are after a casual, comfortable place to hang out with the kids after a movie or an afternoon of shopping (Zara and H & M plus all the designer names, mamas!) I can highly recommend you drop by Chips for a quick and tasty bite."
